When you use this app, various personal data is collected. Personal data refers to data that can personally identify you. This privacy policy explains which data we collect and how we use it. It also explains how and for what purpose this happens.

Please note that data transmission over the internet (e.g., communication via email) can have security vulnerabilities. Complete protection of data from access by third parties is not possible.

Email: info@myhome-app.info

The responsible entity is the natural or legal person who alone or jointly with others determines the purposes and means of processing personal data (e.g., names, email addresses, etc.).

Many data processing operations are only possible with your explicit consent. You can revoke consent you have already given at any time. An informal notification via email to us is sufficient. The legality of data processing performed before the revocation remains unaffected by the revocation.

Right to Lodge Complaints with the Supervisory Authority

The right to lodge a complaint exists without prejudice to other administrative or judicial remedies.

Right to Data Portability

If you request the direct transfer of the data to another responsible party, this will only be done if technically feasible.

Data Collection in Our App

Locally Collected System Data

When synchronizing the app with the central system, the following data essential for its operation is collected:

  • Connection data (e.g., network addresses, user IDs, passwords)
  • Operational data (e.g., alarms, notifications, devices, data points, favorites, rooms, groups, programs, system variables, diagrams)

Depending on the configuration of the central system and the connected devices, personal data may be included. The collected data is stored exclusively locally. Only when reporting errors and with explicit prior consent on a case-by-case basis are selected operational data transmitted to the developer. These data are deleted no later than fourteen (14) days after transmission. No data is shared with third parties.

Push Notifications

The "Push Notifications" function allows messages to be sent from the HomeMatic central system to mobile devices. To provide this service, the app and central system transmit data to our servers as well as Google LLC ("Google") push servers. Please note that uninterrupted availability of this service cannot be guaranteed. We are not obligated to offer this service for products where it is not explicitly mentioned during the ordering process.

When activating the "Push Notifications" function, the following data is stored on the push server:

  • Date and time of activation
  • Pseudonymized identifier of the central system
  • Pseudonymized identifier of the app instance
  • Active subscription ID, if applicable

When the "#myHome" system variable is changed, the following data is sent from the central system to the push servers:

  • Pseudonymized identifier of the app instance
  • Content of the "#myHome" system variable

The content of the "#myHome" system variable is deleted from the push server immediately after the message is delivered. Transmission is encrypted. Technical and operational safeguards have been implemented to protect the push servers from unauthorized access and misuse.

After disabling push notifications in the app settings, the pseudonymized identifier of the app instance and any active subscription IDs will be deleted from the push servers. If all devices are disabled, any remaining data will be deleted from the push servers within three (3) months.

Access to Location Data

When a "home network" is selected in the settings or "presence control" is activated, the app stores the "SSID" and "BSSID" of the selected network locally. In certain cases, these data can be used to derive geographical coordinates.

The app uses the collected network data solely for connection strategy selection and in the background for the "presence control" function. Location data in the form of geographical coordinates is queried and stored locally only when the "Geofencing" function is activated.

Access to location data can be prevented by removing the home network and deactivating the "Geofencing" and "presence control" functions. Additionally, location permissions can be revoked in the operating system settings.

Email Inquiries

If you contact us via email, your inquiry, including all resulting personal data (name, inquiry details), will be stored and processed for the purpose of handling your request. We will not share this data without your consent.

The processing of this data is based on Article 6(1)(b) GDPR if your request is related to the performance of a contract or necessary for pre-contractual measures. In all other cases, processing is based on your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR) and/or our legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) in processing inquiries effectively.

The data you provide in email inquiries will remain with us until you request deletion, withdraw your consent, or the purpose for data storage no longer applies (e.g., once your request has been fully handled). Mandatory legal provisions—especially retention periods—remain unaffected.

External Services

We use the Freshdesk service from Freshworks Inc. ("Freshworks") to organize inquiries. Freshworks collects your data from the contact form, including your provided contact details, to process inquiries and handle follow-up questions. These data are stored in compliance with GDPR and are not shared without your consent. For more information, see the Freshworks Inc. privacy policy: (https://www.freshworks.com/privacy/)

The data entered in the contact form will remain with us until you request deletion, withdraw your consent, or the purpose for data storage no longer applies (e.g., once your inquiry has been fully handled). Mandatory legal provisions—especially retention periods—remain unaffected.

We use Firebase Crashlytics and Firebase Analytics services from Google LLC ("Google") to optimize our offerings. These services are integral to our offerings but can be disabled in the settings if desired. All data is transmitted to Google anonymously and without personal reference.
